Yesterday was a special day at South Lincoln High School. It was the day that four grade 8 students from our community spent the day at the high school learning how to principal a school. These four students entered a contest with the following question in mind, "If I were principal of South Lincoln High School, this is what I would do!" The winners patrolled the hallways, corrected student behaviour, participated in a school spirit activity, marched through the hallways in the school mascot costume and helped in the creation of a school video. This is what the students learned:
"I learned that you have to deal with a lot of students' attitude problems."
"I learned that the school has a lot of good actors."
"I learned about all of the great things a principal does."
"I learned that there are a lot of fun things to do at high school when you are in grade nine."
This is what the students loved!
"I liked running around and wearing the mascot."
"I loved all of the school spirit at South Lincoln High School."
"My favourite thing was participating in the grade nine Olympics activity."
"Today, I really liked making some new friends that I will see next year."
Thanks to our wonderful grade 8 students who participated in this year's contest! We had a lot of fun. Spread the word and look for our "Be the Principal for a day Contest" next year.
